Before coming to the US, my mom who is an OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker) would send boxes full of goodies or balikbayan box to the Philippines. It was such a delightful experience opening the box with the whole family and finding out what our mom packed inside—with love. It was a hug from a thousand miles away!
