Hello! I'm Maria, a Filipina designer and illustrator based in Los Angeles. STUFF BY MARIA is a challenge to express myself in silly, cute, and personal ways and to share these goodies for people, other than my friends and family, to enjoy.

Part of growing up for me is the desire to relive the nostalgia of my childhood in the Philippines and somehow marrying that with the person I’ve become here in the US, where I have now lived for majority of my life. Some things that have remained the same are my love for snacking, dressing up, singing, and just having a good laugh. 

When I came up with my IG handle @stuffbymaria, I thought it perfectly fit since I wasn't sure what stuff I'd be making—I just knew I wanted to create. It started out as a place for me to post my digital drawings and fan art for my fave artists and has now evolved into something more tangible.

Through art, I hope to understand who I am at my core more deeply. And I hope that my art can be a warm hug to those on the same search.
